Aquarium de la Rochelle: a fascinating tour of the marine world
Facing the Old Port, a glass and wood vessel houses one of Europe’s largest and most beautiful aquariums.
The Aquarium de la Rochelle presents 12,000 animals grouped into 600 different species in 75 aquariums containing nearly 3 million liters of seawater, for a real immersion in the ocean depths.
Sharks, manta rays, turtles, porcupine fish, jellyfish, moray eels, clown fish, surgeon fish… A fascinating world sure to please young and old alike.The Aquarium de La Rochelle, close to our campsite in Charente-Maritime, is also a care and study center that takes care of sea turtles stranded on our coasts. Come and discover our 20-meter heated outdoor swimming pool, the perfect place to relax with family and friends. At 28°C, it’s open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., from May to the end of September.

From our campsite, the Aquarium de La Rochelle is easily accessible via the D137 and D733 roads. The route is simple: follow the D137 towards La Rochelle, then continue on the D733. The route will take you through the magnificent landscapes of the Charente-Maritime region, allowing you to enjoy your trip in complete tranquillity.
